Dear runners,
Six months after the approval of our Forest Service Permits, we have been notified that due to Wyden’s Wilderness Bill (Omnibus Public Lands Management Act of 2009 (H.R. 146) signed by president Obama on March 30, 2009. a portion of the PCT route (PCT 50 and Hood 100) is no longer available. The Bill states that events like ours cannot be run over trails in wilderness areas, and 10 miles of our North-bound out-n-back PCT section is now considered wilderness. Therefore, the North-bound turn-around will be at Frog Lake AS. For the for 50M, the South-bound portion will be extended towards Warm Springs Meadows. For the Hood 100M, the South-bound portion will be extended to Breitenbush Lake on the Edge of the Jefferson Wilderness . The race distances will remain intact. Thank you for understanding of our recent route changes.
