Overview
As you leave Little Crater Lake the course is flat for a bit and then starts climbing up. The climbing is not too steep but you may not be able to run sections of the trail. The trail is not as soft as it was before and there are a lot more rocks on the trail.

Coming back in, if you've got some energy then, this is a good section of the course. It's mostly downhill and, provided you can handle the technical footing, you can make pretty good time. It can get a little annoying though as you are unable to get into a good running rhythm with all the rocks and roots. As you get close to Little Crater Lake look for the fencing off to the left. Note, you must stop at Crater Lake Aid Station.

Note: There are a couple of gravel road crossings in this section. Make sure you don't head down any of these gravel roads. Look to rejoin the PCT on the other side of the road.
